Elliott Speaks!

If you walk into the room and Ell hasn't seen you for awhile (5 minutes or more), he will say "Hi!"  He also says "uh-oh" "mama" "dada" "thank you" "Ga"  (Gabe) and "G-G" (Grammie).  If he sees a pic of a baby, he points to it and says "duh-duh".  That means Baby, but no one knows that but Ell and me.

Gabe knows so many letters!  When we read a book, we often go through the title and name all the letters.  Today, he did H-I-P-P-O-S G-O B-E-S-E-R....and I had to tell him that K was the last letter. 2 days ago, he went up to the diaper box and said "H-U-G-G-I-E...What's that letter again?"
He is in a stage of aruguing (reasoning) with us whenever we try to get him to do anything.  On one hand, he is quite articulate.  On the other hand, he is not obeying.  We are working on this.  And I am hearning "why" more and more often.  Also good and bad.  I love him asking questions, and I want to always try to answer, but when I ask him to go potty and he says "why?" that is disobedience.  We keep saying "Obey, right away!"

Today over lunch, Gabe and I reviewed all of his memory verses.  So far, he can say Daniel 14:17b, the Lord's Prayer, John 14:6, John 3:16, Romans 3:23, Psalm 118:24, and Philippians 4:4.  We also like to ask him "What is the chief end of man?"  And he can answer "To glorify God and enjoy Him forever."
Trying to come up with a good verse for letter C.  Maybe Matthew 11:28?

Ell had 6 shots yesterday for his 1 year appt.  Sad day, but he did well and I think we're over the pain now.  He's been sleeping for two and a half hours.

Speaking of sleeping, today is the first day this week Gabe has actually slept during nap time.  And he didn't fall asleep until about 2.  Not sure how much longer I will have a 2 hour break in the middle of the day.  Better think that one through....and PRAY for wisdom!

Ps.  Do these two look alike or what?

  1. I'm so impressed by how much he says! That's more than Landon does!
